........Omg. I am so terrible at this. I can't do that. They are gonna fire me when they see I am not good enough. He thinks I am fat, I know it. I am to tired, I can't finish off this workout. I hate this dress. Why does she have to be like that, always judging me? I am so miserable.....
These have been some of my more recent looping thoughts. Have you ever experienced self defeating thoughts? Those thoughts that hide in the back ground of your brain. Always popping out when you are in your weakest state? Like the stinky troll under that bridge you have to cross to get to your happiness on the flip side?
I have a name for that pest. INNER CRITIC!
We all have an inner critic. It's sneaky and It goes by many names. It is that part of ourselves that resides in fear, judgment and limitations. The part of us that feels separated from self and feels worthless.
We all have that part within us, until we realize our connection to our Highest Self. It is through experiencing who we are, that we can easily find the confidence to embrace our inner critic and Love it until it can flow freely out of our consciousness.
Naturally this is an easy process to embark upon. It just takes the subtlest of shifts for you to release the power your inner demon has over you.

EXPERIENCE THESE THREE BABY STEPS TO EXPAND BEYOND THE LIMITS OF YOUR INNER CRITIC
Our thoughts have the most power over us when we are not feeling good about ourselves. So among these set of steps, the need to feel good about one self must be right at the top. Doing extra jobs around my work place that make me feel good is now on my list of feel goods. Yoga is Always on my list of feel goods. Breath meditations are in there. As long as I have three that I love I am finding I can silence the inner critic pretty quick once I engage in the activity.
Becoming aware of what makes you feel good, deep within your being is the first step to taming your Critic.
When the inner critic shifts on to other things, .. Recognize him. Take notice of your thoughts and actually listen to them. Our Shadow is there to warn us sometimes. Most time the inner critic is irrational and not accurate, but sometimes she will keep us humble in a way our intuition can not.
If the Inner Critic has the power to drive us to be better people through taking care of our self worth then it also has the power too knock us down a peg or two when we get above ourselves. As a Hypnotherapist I have a proven technique to remove the Inner Critic. Some cases call for that procedure, however learning to work with the critic is a much more valuable pursuit. I have witnessed clients release there inner critics entirely and then become arrogant and walk into life situations that are dangerous for themselves.
Realize the part your Inner Destroyer plays in your life and then easily stop the looping tape.
Friend/Family support is the final step in processing your Inner Critics findings. Talk to people about whats going on in your head. I go right to the source of my chirping now. If I am experiencing a work failure dialogue, I go straight to my bosses and ask them how I am doing. I ask for pointers and guidance and if I am comfortable enough I share with them what it is that I am thinking. Almost always they have a good giggle and reassure me that my inner troll is creating illusions for me and that all is well.
Realize having a trusted friend that knows your inner crazy and loves you for it, is the most valuable thing you can create for yourself in your reality. Sometimes just saying the thought out loud will have you laughing at yourself for the absurdity of it. But other times a good friend, not one that's just trying to keep peace, will tell you the honest truth. Having a friend tell you if your actually a good singer or not is a friend I want to have on karaoke night.

Learning to embrace the darker side of our natures is key to accepting and loving our whole selves.
We are so quick to want to step into the light. We fight so hard to stay in that light once we have it, that we neglect key aspects of ourselves. Mother nature has four sesaons. seasons of growth and seasons of death. We like mother nature share growth and death cycles within us. Light and shadows, night and day. To embrace the light we must also embrace the night without fear.
Our inner critics, our addicts, even the Devil is not something to be feared. They are aspects of ourselves that we must understand in order to embrace and in the end..... Love.

The above video is one i work with when getting out of my Inner Critic is proving difficult. Jody uses spaces in her sentences to keep your attention and arose subtle annoyance. This helps engage all of me and when she starts telling me positives things about myself, I find I believe her more. Give her a try. Listen to her every night for a week and I am certain you will be shifting your Inner Critic.
